Lucknow, Jan 15: Chandra Shekhar Aazad, the chief of the Bhim Army, ruled out an alliance between his Azad Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
Chandra Shekhar Aazad said he unified the ‘Bahujan Samaj’ and met with Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for six months. Aazad was in Lucknow for two days to see Akhilesh Yadav.
“I had left the responsibility on him [Akhilesh Yadav]. He insulted me by not calling me,” Chandra Shekhar Aazad said.
“My people feared that our leader would also join the Samajwadi Party. Akhilesh ji does not need Dalits,” Aazad added.
Akhilesh Yadav, according to Chandra Shekhar Aazad, does not understand “social justice” and remains silent on Dalit issues.
Chandra Shekhar Aazad said in order to stop the BJP, he tried joining hands with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and SP. “I considered Akhilesh Yadav as my elder brother,” Aazad said.
“My fight for social justice will continue. I will unite the Opposition or else I will fight myself,” he said.
