New Delhi, Aug 4: The trouble of former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who is in jail, is not coming to a halt. Today on Friday, the Supreme Court refused to give him relief. It is reported that the Supreme Court has refused to give any instructions on the interim bail of Manish Sisodia, who is jailed in corruption and money laundering cases, although he was allowed to go to the trial court.
After the hearing, a bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and SVN Bhatti said, the interim relief and regular bail application will now be heard on September 4.
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, appealed to the Supreme Court to grant interim bail to Sisodia to meet his ailing wife. In this sequence, the bench remarked that the petitioner’s wife is ill for the last 23 years.
They further said that when we will hear on regular bail, we will examine the petition for interim bail on the medical condition of the wife. Also, the court gave two weeks time to Additional Solicitor General SV Raju to reply.
The Supreme Court had issued notice on July 14, seeking a response from the investigating agencies on the petitions filed by the Aam Aadmi Party leader challenging the Delhi High Court orders. Delhi High Court refused to grant bail in CBI and ED cases
Earlier on July 3, a division bench of the Delhi High Court had denied bail to Manish Sisodia on the grounds that he was not able to fulfill the twin conditions and triple test for granting bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
