No sign of person trapped in subsidence: Dhanbad SDM

Dhanbad, April 21: Dhanbad sub divisional magistrate (SDM) Prem Kumar Tiwari has said that neither is there any sign of persons trapped in village road subsidence in Chance Victoria colliery area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited under Chirkunda police station nor any claimant has come up for the same.

The SDM, who was on spot in the colliery along with other administrative and police officials, said that rescue operation is being done to ascertain whether any person is trapped or not.

The rescue team of Bharat Coking Coal Limited from Dhanbad has been pressed to search possible trapped person in the closed mines.

Local villagers claim the village road caved in the morning following illegal mining there. Several people were engaged in the illegal mining when the incident occurred. Many of them are feared trapped.

On apprehension of local people, administration and the coal company management have started search operations.
