Later, the operation was joined by Baramulla Police, led by SSP Baramulla. In the incident, one policeman from the Baramulla area was hurt and was later taken to the Army’s base hospital in Srinagar.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, terrorist Yousuf Kantroo previously worked for the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) as an overground worker before being apprehended in 2005. He afterwards shifted from the HM to the LeT terror organisation.
The identity of the other terrorist murdered, on the other hand, has yet to be determined. Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter. The operation is still underway. Further details awaited.
