Not happy with marriage plan, Hazaribag youth dies by suicide

Hazaribag, April.3: A young man living in Hanuman Nagar near Markham college here hanged himself from a ceiling fan on Monday afternoon.

Relatives said his marriage was to take place in May and he was not happy. He wanted to study and to crack some government job exams but his parents didn’t agree to his plan and finalised his marriage making him to take this extreme step.

Police officials said the youth was identified as 28-year-old Deepak Kumar. He was living in a rented room owned by one Amit Singh under Bada Bazar police station area. Son of Gangadhar Yadav, he was resident of old Peto under Keredari police station. Relatives said he had returned from his village today only. He ended his life by hanging from the fan.

Police officials said the young man was forced to get married against his will.  He told his family that he was preparing for competitive examinations and will get married only after getting a job. But relatives didn’t listen to him and finalised the date in May which disappointed him.

Today when he didn’t come out of his house, his friend reached there and then came to know about his death. Friends informed the Bada Bazar police station and then in the presence of the police, the body was sent to Sheikh Bhikhari medical college and hospital for postmortem. After the postmortem. The body was handed over to his relatives.
