Ramgarh, Dec 8: An awareness lecture related to fluorosis disease was given by District Consultant NPPF Dr Pallavi Kaushal at Government Upgraded Middle School Marangmarcha on Thursday under the NPPCF programme.

During the programme, CHO Saloni Kujur, CHO Anamika Barla and Sahiya Mithila Devi took urine samples of children whose teeth showed signs of fluorosis apart from making children and teachers aware.

Giving information during the programme, students were informed that fluorosis is an incurable disease which has the ability to destroy bones slowly and its prevention is the only cure. Awareness programmes have been started in primary and middle schools on a priority basis so that children can avoid diseases in future by improving their habits in time.

Children were further advised to consume substances like street food to a minimum. They were also advised to include fruits, green vegetables, and milk regularly in their diet and to avoid the consumption of black tea.

The students were further suggested to visit Sadar Hospital for free checkups if they saw symptoms of fluorosis. They were also advised to give more priority to tap water than boring water.
