Ranchi, June 23: To guarantee improved visibility for personnel deployed in mines and siding during the night, NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters produced Safety Reflective Jackets with LED lights through an MSME vendor for distribution in its coal mines. This was a first-of-its-kind project.

In a ceremony that took place recently, Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining), presented these jackets to senior officials from the Pakri Barwadih, Dulanga, Taliapalli, and Chattibariatu coal mines.

Mazumder stated at the time that safety reflective jackets with LED lights would improve safety standards and keep our pledges to guarantee the safety of our personnel when they worked at various mines during the night.

The core value of NTPC has always been safety. NTPC’s primary focus is always the health and safety of its collaborators and employees. The management places a high priority on developing a safe working environment and raising employee understanding of safety.

NTPC currently runs three mines, and another mine is ramping up operations to keep up with the rising demand for coal for its power plants. Due to practical needs, labour is frequently used at night at stockyards, loading sites for railroad waggons in siding regions, and mines for loaders and shovels. The use of these safety reflective jackets with LED lights will increase worker safety for those who are out in the dark.
