Hazaribagh, April 6: The wedding celebration of a family turned sour this evening when one of its members died and eight others sustained serious injuries in a road accident. Meghan Prajapati (35) had got married to a girl from Mahugai village in Barkagaon block about two weeks ago.
Today Meghan was going to his in-law’s house for the first time with his wife and other family members. The whole family was going from their village Banka to Sultana-Bendi via Simariya Road in a car when suddenly one of the wheels of their car opened on its own near the Hudwa River.
Due to this, their car overturned resulting in injuries to ten including the death of one Munshi Prajapati (52). Even Meghan and his wife sustained serious injuries and were referred to RIMS. About Meghan, his limbs are not working and his condition is stated to be critical. Even his wife sustained severe head injuries.
As the accident took place, a tourist bus passing from there noticed the accident and informed the villagers after which all the injured were brought to the nearest health centre. They informed Hazaribagh Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal who directed his media in-charge Ranjan Chaoudhary to ensure proper treatment of all at the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College. Ranjan termed the incident tragic and said the happiness of a family ended with death and injuries with newlywed couple also battling for their lives. Two days ago, four of the family of a businessman Vijay Sahu died in a road accident in Koderma.
