Orange and Yellow Alerts Issued Across Jharkhand Including Ranchi, Thunderstorms and Lightning Expected

Ranchi: The Meteorological Department has issued weather alerts for several districts of Jharkhand, warning of strong winds, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes, with an orange alert in place for Ranchi and surrounding districts and a yellow alert for other parts of the state.

Orange Alert for 11 Districts

Districts including East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Simdega, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Gumla, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Khunti, and Ranchi are under an orange alert, with winds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour expected along with thunder and lightning.

Yellow Alert for Remaining Districts

A yellow alert has been issued for Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Latehar, Deoghar, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahibganj, and other districts, where winds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour and lightning strikes are anticipated.

Ranchi Weather Forecast

Ranchi and surrounding areas are expected to remain partially cloudy on Sunday with thundershowers likely. The maximum temperature is forecast at 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 22 degrees. From June 1 to 4, intermittent rainfall with cloudy skies is expected to continue, with the maximum temperature gradually rising to around 36 degrees Celsius. June 5 is likely to be relatively dry, with rain returning on June 6.

Highest Rainfall Recorded in Majhgaon

Over the past 24 hours, Majhgaon in West Singhbhum recorded the highest rainfall at 39.4 mm, followed by Tantanagar at 30 mm, Namkum at 26.5 mm, and Simdega at 21.8 mm. Daltonganj in Palamu recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.6 degrees Celsius, while Latehar logged the lowest minimum at 16.8 degrees Celsius. Ranchi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius, which is 7.9 degrees below normal.

Temperature to Rise Over Next Five Days

The Meteorological Department has forecast a gradual rise of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures across the state over the next five days. However, light to moderate rainfall is still expected across most parts of Jharkhand on June 1, except in the north-western districts.
