Dhanbad, Nov. 13: The scientific session of six states’ orthopaedic experts began at Hotel Parklane Govindpur, around 15 km away from the district on Saturday morning.
This is the first time that such a mega-conference of orthopaedic experts called ‘Cezecon 2021’ has been organized in Dhanbad where 215 eminent doctors of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar have come to attend the programme to shed light on different orthopaedic related ailments.
Though Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais would formally inaugurate the two-day conference in the evening, the session already started in the morning.
The organizing committee chairman, Dr. DP Bhushan, head of the orthopaedic department at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), said that organizing such a mega-conference of expert doctors across the country in Dhanbad would help in developing Jharkhand medical tourism.
The prominent doctors who are participating in the session are Dr. SK Maurya of Max Hospital who treated Dalai Lama and operated legendary cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, Dr. BD Chatterjee- an orthopaedic surgeon who operated Bengal Governor J Dhankar, chief minister Mamata Banerjee, hand surgeon Dr Sudhir Warrier who operated Abhishek Bachchan and Harbhajan Singh. Besides them, Dr Shivam Maurya (England), Dr. Trl Nagda (Dubai), Dr Rajiv Raman (Kolkata), Dr Vikash Kapoor (Kolkata), Dr Patnayak (Bhubaneswar) Dr Vijay (AIIMS Deoghar) have been participating.
Dr RN Choudharhy said that during the two-day conference, the doctors will discuss bone-related common problems of people and coordination of inter-departmental doctors and dealing with accident cases.
“Expert orthopaedics would also share on latest education, innovation and collaboration during the conference,” said Dr. Choudhary.
Dr DP Bhushan of Jharkhand will take charge as the zonal president of the orthopaedic association of six states at the conference.
