Islamabad, April 16: Deputy Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Qasim Suri has tendered his resignation on Saturday ahead of an important NA session to be held for the oath-taking of the new Speaker of Assembly.
According to the details, the session of the National Assembly (NA) was started at 12 noon today. The agenda of the day includes voting on a motion for the removal of Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri.

The election of the new speaker and oath-taking of the Speaker-elect are also included in the agenda. Notably, Qasim Suri had adjourned the meeting on April 16 and called a meeting on April 22. It is to be noted that in the previous NA session, Speaker Asad Qaiser tendered his resignation amid an impasse over a parliamentary vote to oust then Prime Minister Imran Khan.
