Dhanbad, Sept 12: Pakur Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Mantu Tekriwal has thrown the state government order to wind by deploying a transferred medical officer on duty at the hospital again after one month of relieving him from the district.
The State government had on July 31 transferred 250 medical officers of the state, including Civil Surgeons who had been posted in a district for more than 9 years, directing them to join at new place before August 14.
In the notification, eight medical officers of Pakur district, including Dr Amit Kumar, Dr Santosh Tudu, Dr Lakhan Soren, Dr Prem Kumar Marandi, Dr Samarul Huque, Dr Sohel Anwar Ajmi, Dr Amit Ranjan and Dr Ravish Kumar Singh were transferred to different districts.
Pakur Civil Surgeon Dr Mantu Tekriwal as per notification relieved all eight doctors including Dr Amit Kumar (posted at Sadar Hospital) from the district on August 11, 2023. Dr Amit Kumar had been transferred to Sadar Hospital Garhwa.
Surprisingly, the Pakur Civil Surgeon on Monday evening (September 11) issued a notification deploying Dr Amit Kumar at Sadar Hospital for discharging duty from September 12 (today) in place of Dr Sanjay Kumar Jha, who has been on IMI-05 monitoring system campaign.
Despite repeated attempts on his mobile number, Civil Surgeon Dr Mantu Tekriwal was not available for comment. Civil Surgeon office officials could not give a proper reply on how Dr Amit Kumar has been reinstated in the district after one month of his relieving for Garhwa district.
Sources said neither Health Minister Banna Gupta nor Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Health Arun Kumar Singh issued a letter in this regard.
A senior medical officer of the Jharkhand government said that in the last 23 years of the state, he had not seen such type of deployment in the health department. “Under political favour sometimes transfer of a doctor had been stayed in the past but after relieving no one has been deployed again on the same place as the Pakur Civil Surgeon has done,” said the medical officer.
However, seven other medical officers of Pakur district who had been relieved on August 11 by the Civil Surgeon after notification duly joined their transferred place.
