Daltonganj, Jan 7: Palamu Civil Surgeon Dr Anil Kumar has tested Covid positive today.

Talking to lagatar24.com this evening, the civil surgeon said he has no symptoms of Covid but his test report has come as positive.

He said that he would be trying to discharge his duties, maintaining a safe distance from his people or work on the phone.

The state government has asked two districts- Koderma and Palamu to identify and locate government land preferably on the premise of the district hospital for setting up a trauma centre.

Dr Anil Kumar said that despite him being Covid positive, he would nevertheless try to find out the land today itself.

His real worries are about four community health centres namely Bishrampur, Chainpur, Lesliganj and Panki where testing and vaccinations are yet to be speeded up.

“The state mission director of NHM has asked us to deliver the results in terms of testing and vaccination,” he added.

Two other officials namely District Accounts Manager and District Programme Manager are already Covid positives.

A doctor not wishing to be identified said it is high time that every civil surgeon in the districts across the state should have a contingency plan, so that in the event of a civil surgeon or superintendent or deputy superintendent or district reproductive child health official getting infected with covid, testing and vaccination go on unhindered.
