Daltonganj, May 21: The Nilamber Pitamber University has finally drawn its own post-graduate syllabi for various subjects. The Academic Council and the Syndicate both have accorded their approval to it. The syllabi will come into effect from the session 2022-23.
The university came into existence in 2009 and since then, it was going by the syllabi of the Ranchi University from which it had shot off.
Pro vice-chancellor of NPU Dr Deep Narayan Yadav said, “Today we have the satisfaction now that this 13-year-old university has finally evolved its own syllabi for the postgraduate courses including Education.”
Yadav said it took the university more than 6 months to achieve this ‘feat’. He said he has to literally chase and pursue departmental heads to submit syllabi. Some responded to it well in time while some dragged on.
The pro-vice-chancellor was evasive as to which departmental head dilly-dallied in submitting the syllabi saying “All is well that ends well.”
Proctor of the Nilamber Pitamber university Dr K C Jha said we have now NPU syllabi for the faculty of humanities, social science, science and commerce along with the education of postgraduate. “Our next stop will be to have our own syllabi for the undergraduate courses,” he added.
Sources said NPU, which remains in the news for more negativity from student leaders’ point of view, coming out of it with its own PG courses syllabi is like a shot in the arm of the vice-chancellor Dr Ram Lakhan Singh and the pro-vice-chancellor Dr Deep Narayan Yadav and his team.
