Daltonganj, June 16: Superintendent of police Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha has tested Covid positive.

While talking to this lagatar24.com correspondent last night around 8 pm, SP Chandan said, “It’s Coronavirus. I had some small travel history.”

However, he has no complications like fever, cough etc and is doing fine. He has isolated himself.

Palamu civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said, “We are aware of our SP testing Covid positive and we want to tell our people here not to leave without wearing masks and avoid going into the crowded location if not needed.

District epidemiologist Dr Anup Kumar Singh said it is again the time for the public to adopt and follow all Covid appropriate behaviour as any laxity may prove harmful to all.

The number of active Covid cases has gone up to three including the case of Palamu SP in the district. One of the three cases is of a woman in the rural area of Palamu, about 80 km away from Daltonganj. Whereas Daltonganj urban area has one positive case of Covid.

Meanwhile, SP Chandan is taking calls and issuing necessary directives to his officers to maintain harmony and amity in society.

He said, “We have further energised our social media cell which operates from the official residence.”

He said a fellow in Harihurganj, about 70 km away from Daltonganj, posted some obnoxious and objectionable content for which the local police caught him and remanded him in judicial custody.

The SP has warned mischievous elements not to do any misadventure as the law will take a very stern and strict view of the doings and ubdoings.
