Panchayat poll official dies of cardiac arrest in Palamu strong room

Daltonganj, May 19: A panchayat poll official identified as Nand Lal Rajak, 53,  died in the strong room here this evening.

The deceased had done his poll duty at a booth at Naudeeha in the second phase today.

 

He came by bus like others to deposit the polled ballot box when he got down from the bus and fell dead.

 

Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar said we took his body from the strong room site.

 

Quoting his other poll personnel, the civil surgeon said Rajak had a massive bout of uneasiness and restlessness and before any medical assistance could reach him he died.

 

The body has been sent to the MMCH Daltonganj for the post-mortem.

 

Sources said massive cardiac failure is suspected for his death.
