Ranchi, April 27: Now the patients developing complications in reputed metropolitan hospitals have started reaching Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department.
One case has come after a patient suffering from a cardiac infection developed after his treatment at a reputed metropolitan city of the country was successfully treated in the RIMS CTVS department after complicated surgery.
“The infection was life threatening and it would have been fatal if the CTVS department team had not swung into action sensing the gravity of the situation,” the insider said.
Department head Dr Vineet Mahajan confirmed the fact but expressed his inability to share much detail in the case citing ‘confidentiality’ as the reason.
An insider said it was not for the first time the CTVS department had done something unique for the RIMS.
“10 days ago CTVS had performed a redo valve replacement surgery. It was for the first time such surgery was done at RIMS. Led by department head Dr Vineet Mahajan the department team replaced the valve of a 23-yr-old girl a second time to give her a new lease of life,” the insider said.
