PLFI Area Commander among six rebels arrested in W Singhbhum

Chaibasa, Sept 25: Six extremists, including the area commander of rebel organization PLFI, Hari Singh Sandi Poorti, who were termed as the synonym of terror in Tebo, Karaikela, Toklo and Bandgaon of West Singhbhum district, have been arrested. They were arrested from Bobonga forest in the Tebo police station area.

A huge cache of arms and live cartridges were recovered from them. There are 28 cases registered against the Area Commander in different police stations of West Singhbhum and three in different police stations of Khunti.

Giving information about the arrest of Naxalites, Superintendent of Police Ajay Linda on Saturday said that various cases of murder, attempt to murder, attack on the police, extortion, levy recovery, and setting fire to a brick kiln are registered against these Naxalites at different police stations.

The SP also informed about the recovery of arms.1 double-barrel gun, 1 pistol, 1 pistol, 31 live cartridges, 7 mobile phones, and pamphlets.

Apart from the Area Commander, those arrested are 23-year-old Dadua Purti, 23-year-old Don Bosco Sandi Purti, 30-year-old Birsa Sandi Purti, 19-year-old Johnny Bodra and 19-year-old Sushil Huni Purti. There are 5 cases registered against Dadua Purti in different police stations while 2 more cases are registered against Don Basco and one against Birsa.
