PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for kin of Bharuch factory blast victims

New Delhi, April 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund to the families of those killed in a blast at a chemical facility in Gujarat’s Bharuch district on Monday.

“PM @narendramodi has expressed grief on the loss of lives due to a mishap at a factory in Bharuch. He extends condolences to the bereaved families. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased,” tweeted PMO.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.

In addition, all those who were hurt in the unfortunate incident will receive cash support of Rs 50,000.

Notably, on Monday six workers were killed in a blast at a chemical business in Gujarat’s Bharuch district. According to police, the incident occurred at 3 a.m. in a unit in the Dahej industrial area, around 235 kilometres from Ahmedabad.

The six victims were working near a reactor when it abruptly blew off during the solvent distillation process, according to Bharuch Superintendent of Police Leena Patil.
