New Delhi, April 12: The world’s first semi-high-speed passenger train on high-rise overhead electric (OHE) terrain, the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, was hailed off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday via video conference.
The first train will run between the rail terminals in Jaipur and Delhi Cantt.
Starting on Thursday, April 13, the Vande Bharat Express will run regularly between Ajmer and Delhi Cantt., making stops in Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurgaon.
This is Rajasthan’s first Vande Bharat train.
While flagging off the train, PM Modi said, “Vande Bharat Express enriches the spirit of ‘India First, Always First’. I am happy that the Vande Bharat train has today become synonymous with development, modernity, self-reliance and stability. Today’s journey of Vande Bharat will lead us to the journey of developed India tomorrow.”
PM Modi stated, nearly 60 lakh people have taken these trains since Vande Bharat began. The primary benefit of high-speed Vande Bharat is that it saves people time. Vande Bharat train has numerous qualities, from quick speed to gorgeous design. He said, “Vande Bharat Express will immensely benefit the tourism industry of Rajasthan. I am fortunate to have flagged off the sixth Vande Bharat Express in the last two months.”
The newest Vande Bharat Express will travel the route between Delhi Cantt. and Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes, per the schedule created for it. The Shatabdi Express, currently the quickest train on the same route, travels in 6 hours and 15 minutes. The new Vande Bharat Express will travel the same route 60 minutes faster than the current fastest train.
The train would enhance accessibility to popular tourist locations in Rajasthan, such as Pushkar and the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, among other locations that draw large numbers of visitors all year long. Improved connectivity will also help the region’s socioeconomic development.
On April 8, PM Modi waved the Vande Bharat Express from Chennai to Coimbatore off. After the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express left the Secunderabad Railway Station in Telangana, it was the second semi-high-speed train to depart on the same day.
PM Modi had already flagged off the start of India’s eighth Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam in January.
A Vande Bharat Express on the Bhopal-New Delhi route was flagged off by Prime Minister Modi a week prior to Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express.
While travelling the 660 kilometres between the cities, the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express makes stops at Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore stations.
An indigenously produced, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set is called the Vande Bharat Express. Modern passenger amenities on board the train make for a speedier, more comfortable, and more convenient journey for passengers.
