New Delhi, Sep 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday in Delhi. Following extensive deliberations, it is anticipated that several important agreements, notably those relating to agriculture and energy, will be signed.
After visiting the country in February 2019, the Saudi Crown Prince is now in India for a second state visit. For the G20 Summit, he arrived in Delhi on September 8. Since February 2019, the Saudi Crown Prince has travelled to India thrice on official business. For the private meeting with PM Modi, he did, however, prolong his stay.
As is customary for any foreign leader visiting the presidential complex, the Saudi Crown Prince was given a ceremonial welcome when he arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. At Rashtrapati Bhavan, he was greeted by President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Modi and senior ministers.
The Saudi Crown Prince praised India for hosting the G20 Summit effectively in his speech.
“I am very glad to be here in India. A lot of announcements have been made that will benefit G20 countries and the world. We will work together to create a great future for both countries,” he said.
The Hyderabad House, a location renowned for diplomacy and the strengthening of ties with many countries, is where he next met PM Modi. The discussions covered a wide range of subjects, including energy, security, defence, trade, economics and culture.
A high-ranking group that includes ministers and senior officials is with the Saudi Crown Prince.
With the aid of two crucial ministerial committees, PM Modi and the Saudi Crown Prince are entrusted with not only analyzing the current cooperation under the auspices of the Strategic Partnership Council but also anticipating future avenues of partnership.
The minutes of the first meeting of the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council will be formally signed at Hyderabad House to emphasise the comprehensive nature of the partnership.
The Saudi Crown Prince will be welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan later in the evening, giving a platform for a discourse to reaffirm shared interests and discussions on regional and global issues that affect both nations.
