New Delhi, Feb 4: A survey by the political intelligence company positions PM Modi in the list of most popular world leader with approval rating of over 75%.
The US based political intelligence company ‘Morning Consult’ released a list of world leaders trending on the basis of their approval ratings among 22 nations. PM Modi is followed by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Swiss President Alain Berset among others.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a 78 percent approval rating, making him the most favoured leader in the entire globe. According to the poll, Prime Minister Modi has higher approval ratings than other world leaders such as US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. A total of 22 world leaders were surveyed for the poll’s rankings.
According to the political intelligence research business, the “Global Leader Approval” survey is based on data gathered from January 26 to January 31 of this year. Sample sizes varied by country, and each country’s adult residents were included in the seven-day moving average.
Compared to US President Joe Biden, who received 40% of the vote, PM Modi received 78% of the vote. With 68% of the vote, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador placed second, followed by Swiss President Alain Berset who received 62% of the vote.
Data from a US surveillance company shows that 78% of respondents favour of Prime Minister Modi, while only 18% disapprove of him. The third week of January saw an improvement in PM Modi’s approval rating, which now stands at 79%.
US President Joe Biden is now at number seven on the list, which is updated on a regular basis. Jonas Gahr Store, the prime minister of Norway, Yoon Seok-youl, the president of South Korea, and Fumio Kishida, the prime minister of Japan, were the final three leaders in the list of the 22 nations.
Giorgia Meloni, Italy’s first female prime minister and a freshly elected far-right leader, is in sixth position with 52% of the vote.
Anthony Albanese, the prime minister of Australia, came in fourth in the poll with a 58 percent approval rating.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the recently elected president of Brazil, came in at number five with a 50% approval rating, followed by Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, at number nine with a 40% approval rating, and Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, at number twelve with a 30% approval rating.
Notably, the year 2022 has been a phenomenal year in the history of India’s foreign policy, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi whose advice ‘this is not an era of war’ to Russian President Vladimir Putin found an echo across the world. India’s strategy in a multipolar world appears to be avoiding great-power competition and forging its own, independent path.
