Ranchi, Sept.13: Police dance to the tune of the state government, alleged the BJP while condemning the attack on cameraman Baijnath Mahto in the Jharkhand capital in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday at Tiril under Sadar police station area in the Jharkhand capital.
“No one is safe under the rule of this government. Downtrodden, tribal, women, sisters, and daughters besides judges, advocates, journalists, and businessmen, all are terrified. Police in the state work on the direction of only the government while the security of common men should be its priority,” BJP state president Deepak Prakash said.
Earlier, he demanded immediate arrest of those responsible for the attack on Mahto and asked the government to ensure proper treatment of the cameraman.
Mahto sustaining serious head injuries in a murder attempt is undergoing treatment at RIMS. He has not regained his senses so far.
Governor Ramesh Bais, chief minister Hemant Soren, and health minister Banna Gupta have already taken cognisance of the matter.
Contacted officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Bankatesh Kumar for his comment on the matter he said the effort is on to arrest the culprit. “So far three persons have been detained in this connection,” OC Kumar said.
