Jamshedpur, Nov 23: Satish Pradhan, who had allegedly conspired the murder of right-wing leader Kamaldeo Giri has been arrested from the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.
A resident of Kurulia at Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum district, Pradhan was arrested from a school teacher’s house where he had taken shelter after fleeing Chakradharpur on November 12.
A special investigation team (SIT), that the West Singhbhum SP, Ashutosh Shekhar had set up after the murder of Kamaldeo Giri succeeded to nail the conspirator on the basis of mobile phone tower location.
Police sources said that the SIT which was making frantic efforts to trace out Pradhan had succeeded in nabbing him on the basis of the last call the accused had made before taking refuge in the teacher’s house.
Pradhan’s name had emerged as a conspirator of the murder of the right-wing leader following the interrogation of two accused, Matiur Rahman and Guljar Hussain who were arrested by the SIT on Monday.
SP, West Singhbhum, Ashutosh Shekhar confirmed the arrest of Satish Pradhan, the conspirator of the Kamaldeo Giri murder case.
“The SIT has arrested Satish Pradhan from Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused is being brought to Chakradharpur on transition remand. We will be able to find out the reason behind the murder after his thorough interrogation only,” said Shekhar, adding that five more accused have been arrested in the murder case.
Kamaldeo Giri, who was convenor of Girinath Sena was killed after being attacked with country-made bombs at Chakradharpur on November 12 evening.
