The boy, who was identified as Duryodhan Das, has been missing since February 13 from his residence at Tirra Bhandartoli in Garja Panchayat under Sadar police station area of Simdega district.

“The body was buried under sand on the bank of the river. A local resident noticed the body when a section of dogs was digging out the body,” a local resident said.

Superintendent of police of the district Shams Tabrez could not be available for his comment on the matter. Sources close to police said that the body was sent for autopsy.

Officer-in-charge of said the Sadar police station Dayanand Kumar confirmed the recovery saying the missing case was converted into a case of murder and further investigation has been started.
