Police recover woman’s body in Simdega

Simdega, Jan 21: A blood-soaked body of a woman was found in Saipur Basti of Simdega Sadar police station area early Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Salo Devi. Inspector Dayanand Kumar Sadalbal, in-charge of Sadar police station, reached the spot and started the investigation upon being notified of the incident.

According to the locals, Salo Devi drank alcohol at night while sitting with some people of the settlement itself. Her blood-soaked body was found the next morning. The police are interrogating the people she was with when last seen alive.

The Sadar police station in-charge has said that any of them might have killed the woman. The woman has injury marks on her forehead. Police have taken the body in possession and sent it for post-mortem. Further investigation in the matter continues.
