Ranchi, May 13: The Enforcement Directorate is learnt to have issued summons to a couple of mining officers for questioning. A senior official of the mining department said the summon has been issued to the district mining officer of Dumka district Krishnachandra Kisku.
“I have reliably come to know that the mining officer of Dumka has been summoned by the agency. He has received a letter from ED but I don’t know whether this is a summon or something else,” a mining officer of a district said.
On being contacted Krishanchandra Kisku did not respond to phone calls and SMS.
It was also said that the district mining officers of Sahibganj and Palamu have also been called. When contacted district mining officer of Sahibganj Vibhuti Kumar said that he is only to attend a family program and he is not aware about any notice.
The district mining officer of Palamu Anand Kumar also denied having received any notice.
The ED is investigating and money laundering probe against the secretary of the mining and industry department Pooja Singhal. After her arrest by the agency, the Jharkhand government placed her under suspension. There have been complaints of loots and corruption in the mining department and the possibility cannot be ruled out that the agency has now expanded its proof to the mining department.
