Dhanbad, Aug 19: K Prabhakar Rao, Secretary of Jharkhand State Badminton Association, has been selected as manager of the Indian squad for the Tokyo Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo (Japan) from August 24 to September 5.
Secretary-General of Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) Gurusharan Singh and Paralympic Badminton Association of India (PBAI) secretary Ajay Singhania in a separate letter to Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) informed today about the selection of Rao as manager of the Indian Paralympic squad for Tokyo Paralympic Games.
In Tokyo Paralympic Games 103-member Indian contingent, including 54 athletes would take part in nine Para Sports events 13 days competition.
“ I assure you that the team will perform better than the Olympic team and bring medals in Paralympic Games this time,” said Rao.
Meanwhile, the Jharkhand Badminton Association has welcomed the selection of K Prabhakar Rao as manager of the India squad in the Paralympic Games. JBA president Deepak Kumar Verma, joint secretary Ranjay Kumar Ray, treasure Ravi Kumar Singh, Ranchi district badminton association secretary Nirmal Kumar Dey, Saraikela district secretary Sachin Rana ( national coach), Dhanbad district secretary Samrat Choudhary, Sandeep Dey, Koderma badminton association secretary Arvind Kumar Singh have hailed the selection of Rao.
Rao had earlier represented India’s badminton team in the international championship abroad as manager and administrator several times in the past but this first time he has been selected as manager for Paralympic.
