Pratik Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away at the age of 38, sending shockwaves through political circles with condolences pouring in from across party lines.

Found Unconscious at Home

According to available information, Pratik was found unconscious in his kitchen early in the morning. He was being taken to the Civil Hospital at around 5:55 am when he passed away en route. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival. He had been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow a week earlier but had been brought home after his condition stabilised. The exact cause of death is yet to be established, and his body has been sent to KGMU for post-mortem. Reports also suggest he was suffering from depression, with some accounts indicating possible poison consumption.

Who Was Pratik Yadav

Despite belonging to a prominent political family, Pratik stayed largely away from politics. He was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav from his second wife Sadhana Gupta, making him the step-brother of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. His wife Aparna Yadav is a BJP leader and serves as Vice Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Women’s Commission. The couple had been in a relationship for several years before marrying in 2012.

Leaders Across Parties Mourn the Loss

CM Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief over Pratik’s sudden passing, offering condolences to the bereaved family and praying for peace for the departed soul. Akhilesh Yadav also mourned his brother’s death. The Samajwadi Party posted on X expressing sorrow and paying tribute to Pratik Yadav.
