New Delhi, June 9: The Election Commission said on Thursday that presidential elections will be held on July 18 and the results will be released on July 21. The election will take held in Delhi.
Before releasing the dates, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar provided a comprehensive description of the presidential election process, including the method, vote value, and nomination process.
“A total of 4,809 electors will vote in the elections. No political party can issue a whip to its members,” said CEC Rajiv Kumar.
Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on June 29, the candidate or any of his proposers or seconders can file the nomination.
Throughout the electoral process, all Covid-related protections and regulations shall be followed. As part of its effort to make elections environmentally friendly, the EC has also instructed that eco-friendly and biodegradable materials be used.
