New Delhi, April 14: PM Modi paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar at Parliament House lawn on Friday, on the occasion of ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’. President Droupadi Murmu also honoured the crucial architect of India’s Constitution by presenting a garland.
PM Modi said on Twitter, “Hundreds of salutes to Pujya Babasaheb, who dedicated his life for the empowerment of the deprived and exploited sections of the society, on his birth anniversary. Jai Bheem!”

President Droupadi Murmu sent her best wishes on Friday in honour of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 132nd birthday, a Dalit hero and the father of the Constitution. The President posted on Twitter, saying, “I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the architect of our Constitution, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.”

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, also paid tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar on this occasion. “Tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, who ensured justice and rights to the last person of the country, on his birth anniversary. Sacrificing all the comforts and facilities, he dedicated his life to the welfare of the underprivileged. His ideals and thoughts will continue to guide our path,” he tweeted.

Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), paid homage to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in Lucknow.
Ambedkar, an Indian lawyer, economist, politician, and social reformer who was born on April 14, 1891, advocated for the rights of women and workers and fought against social discrimination. On December 6, 1956, he passed away. He received the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in 1990.
