Dhanbad , Jan 28: A private school in Dhanbad has landed in soup for holding physical classes in the institution amidst closure order of the state government in wake of Corona pandemic.
Dhanbad Block Development Officer (BDO) Gyanendra Kumar put on a notice on the school gate on Thursday and has sought permission from the District Disaster Management (DDM) Chairman cum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh for sealing the defaulter institution.
In wake of the third wave of Corona pandemic, the state government has banned physical classes in schools and colleges of the state till January 31.
But the Kids Paradise School in Manaitand area under Dhansar police station was found holding classes for the students. On getting information about conduct of classes by the school management, BDO Dhanbad sadar sent two observers for inspection.
The school management reportedly not only stopped both the observers from making videos of students in school but also detained them for a long time.
However, Dhansar police station officer in-charge Rajkapoor intervened and rescued both the observers of the district administration from the school management.
The BDO said that calling students to school for classes without permission was a violation of the Disaster Management Act.
“Moreover, both the observers found social distancing of students was not followed as per guidelines. So, action has been initiated against school management under Disaster Management Act,” said the BDO.
After the incident, the school has been found closed since Monday. The school management could not be contacted for clarifying the situation.
Sources said the institution is a middle school but holds classes upto class 10. Official sources said that after getting the nod from the DC (DDM chairman), the school will be sealed.
