New Delhi, Oct.22: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the Congress general secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge, will launch three ‘Pratigya Yatras’ from Barabanki on Saturday, Oct 23, to bring numerous resolutions approved by the party to the people ahead of the 2022 assembly elections.

Former MP and party in-charge of Chhattisgarh P L Punia told the media on Friday that she will expound on the seven resolutions given to the people of UP in addition to the election platform.

From October 23 to November 1, he said, three yatras will be held, each taking a different path — from Barabanki to Bundelkhand, Saharanpur to Mathura, and Varanasi to Rae Bareli.

Former MP Pramod Tiwari will lead the yatra from Varanasi to Rae Bareli, which would encompass the Awadh region, while Punia and former Union minister of state Pradeep Jain Aditya will lead the yatra from Barabanki to Bundelkhand.

Former Union minister Salman Khurshid and senior party leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam will lead the yatra on the Saharanpur-Mathura route, which would cover the western areas of the state.

Nasimuddin Siddiqui, chairman of the party’s media department and a former state minister, and Aradhana Mishra, former MP and chairman of the strategy and planning committee, Rajesh Mishra, spoke about the yatra and its route.

In its first resolution, the Congress guaranteed 40 percent of ticket distribution to women in the 2022 elections, as well as cellphones to female students who pass intermediate exams and electric scooters to female college graduates, according to Siddiqui. He stated that specifics on the remaining six vows will be revealed at the start of the ‘Pratigya Yatra’ in Barabanki.
