Ranchi, June 1: The office of South Chotanagpur commissioner expressed its dissatisfaction over the incomplete report in the matter involving Bhuihari plots in Morhabadi Mauja mentioned in book numbers 160, 161 and 162.
The land hogged the limelight after the Enforcement Directorate on May 6 raided Pulse Hospital constructed on the tribal land in Bariatu and recovered cash in tune of crores. The hospital belongs to the husband of senior bureaucrat Pooja Singhal. The raid exposed how tribal lands were procured by influential people involved in corruption.
The office of the commissioner shot off a letter to the circle officer (CO) of the concerned Bargain circle to give a detailed report in the matter explaining the present status of the land. The office of the commissioner asked him to clearly mention whether land is vacant or under someone’s possession. Apart from this, the office also asked to talk about the structure present on the land. The commissioner’s office in order to make the report more clear asked the CO to support the claim with relevant pictures.
The commissioner’s office apart from asking about the status of the land has also asked the CO to explain how the nature of Bhuihari land changed and directed to mention how far government officials are involved in this act.
The matter arose after Indradev Lal, a resident of Green Residency, Block B/3003, Tetartoli under Bariatu police station knocked on the door of the commissioner informing about the illegal practice to grab tribal Bhuihari land. The application mentions the names of five persons on which the land was settled. The report which was sent from the circle office did not mention those names. The Commissioner’s office has also asked to mention those names in the report.
The commissioner’s office, which issued the letter on May 30, has given a deadline of three days to provide the supplementary information.
