Pune: Five die as under-construction building collapses, PM Modi condoles mishap

Pune, Feb 4: In a terrible occurrence late Thursday night in Pune, at least five labourers were murdered and numerous others were injured when the structure of an under-construction building collapsed. The event occurred in the Yerwada Shastri Nagar region of Pune, and the fire department responded quickly.

A mall was being built when a large steel structure fell, according to Pune Police DCP Rohidas Pawar. He went on to say that all of the workers were from Bihar, and that the cause of the collapse is being investigated.

According to the reports, the primary inquiry suggests that the event occurred owing to a lack of precautionary measures at the site.

Sunil Tingre, a local MLA, also paid a visit to the site to keep an eye on the rescue efforts. Tingre went on to say that the site was being built 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his condolences to the bereaved families. He stated that all individuals hurt in the accident will recover as soon as possible.
