Dehradun, March 23: BJP’s Pushkar Singh Dhami takes oath as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for a second term in Dehradun on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM designate Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and other BJP leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony in Dehradun.
Along with Dhami, eight other ministers were sworn in. Satpal Maharaj, Subodh Uniyal, Dhan Singh Rawat, Rekha Arya, and Ganesh Joshi are the five who will take the oath for the second time. Chandan Ram Das, Saurabh Bahuguna, and Prem Chand Aggarwal are the three first-timers.
Earlier, Dhami offered prayers at Dehradun’s Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple today, ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.
In the recently ended state elections, the BJP gained 47 seats in the 70-member Assembly. With this victory, the BJP has become the first party in Uttarakhand’s 21-year history to win two elections in a row.
