Hyderabad: Allu Arjun’s blockbuster sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, saw an impressive 70% surge in its worldwide box office collection on its second Saturday, riding on the wave of renewed interest following the actor’s recent arrest and release. This boost has propelled Pushpa 2 past Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan in box office collections and within striking distance of Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2, which stands at ₹1,208 crore. The movie is expected to surpass KGF 2 on Sunday and then aim for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which boasts a collection of ₹1,309 crore.
Domestic and Overseas Numbers
The film’s domestic net earnings reached ₹826 crore, translating to ₹986 crore gross. Overseas, Pushpa 2 collected ₹210 crore, with its Saturday overseas earnings nearing $2 million, reviving its performance in international markets.
Challenging the Top Indian Films
With its sustained momentum, Pushpa 2 is now eyeing the top two spots in Indian cinema’s highest-grossing films—Dangal and Baahubali 2.
The Legacy of Pushpa
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the story of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, with Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil reprising their roles. The sequel builds on the massive success of Pushpa: The Rise, which transformed Allu Arjun into a pan-India star with ₹340 crore worldwide earnings in 2021.
With its remarkable comeback, Pushpa 2 is proving to be not just a box office juggernaut but also a testament to Allu Arjun’s pan-India appeal.
