MANOJ SINHA

Patratu, June 15: To protect children from the unbearable heat and lashing rain, PVUN Ltd commenced with an “Umbrella Distribution Drive” on Wednesday.

On the first day of the drive, 300 umbrellas were distributed to the students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay by the members of Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti.

In addition to the drive, Meenu Batra, President (Swarnrekha Mahila Samiti & Bal Bhawan), also spoke to students about girl empowerment and the importance of education.

She said,”If you educate a boy, you train a man. If you educate a girl, you train a village”.

In an interactive talk session, she also encouraged the students to be physically & mentally fit and advised them on their career related queries.

Further, this ‘Umbrella Distribution Drive’ shall be continued in all schools of the nearby villages.

This is a part of the campaign – “Chalo School Chale” by PVUN, which aims to bring children back to school, ensuring their education and further reducing the school dropout rate.
