Rahul Gandhi Claims Modi Wouldn’t Be PM Without 15 Extra Seats in 2024

New Delhi: Addressing the Annual Legal Conclave 2025, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the BJP, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not have retained his post if the BJP had won 10–15 fewer seats in the Lok Sabha elections. He alleged widespread electoral manipulation and announced the party would release what he called “an atomic bomb” of data to prove it.

Constitution Empowers Citizens, Not Rulers

Rahul reminded the audience that the Congress party was founded by lawyers and said, “You are the backbone of the Congress.” He emphasized the Constitution as a source of strength and dignity for every citizen, urging the legal community to continue fighting injustice. When attendees began chanting slogans, he firmly stopped them, stating, “I’m not a king, nor do I want to be. I’m against the concept of monarchy.”

Allegations of Electoral Manipulation and Vote Theft

Gandhi claimed he suspected flaws in the electoral process as early as 2014, pointing to surprising seat losses in states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh. “In Maharashtra, we won big in Lok Sabha but lost heavily in the Assembly. That made me question everything,” he said. He alleged that fake votes—up to 1.5 lakh out of 6.5 lakh in some areas—distorted the results. According to him, if there hadn’t been tampering in 15 seats, Modi would not be prime minister today.

Attack on Election Commission and Past Threats

Rahul also accused the Election Commission of being compromised and said he now holds “100 percent proof” of its failure to maintain neutrality. He recalled being threatened by Arun Jaitley during the farmers’ protest and said, “We Congressmen are not cowards. Even the British couldn’t bend us.”

Revisiting Rafale and Hindutva

Rahul reiterated his claims on the Rafale deal, stating that the PMO and National Security Advisor had manipulated the process. He accused the BJP of attacking not just democracy but the essence of India’s history and faith. “Those who understand Hindutva deeply will realize that BJP is harming even that,” he said.
