Savita Devi from Bihar Invited to President’s Independence Day Dinner

Patna: Savita Devi, a resident of Taregna Deeh locality in Masaurhi, Patna district, has been invited as a special guest to the Independence Day dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu. The dinner will be held on August 15 at 6 PM at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Savita has been selected as a model beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) from Bihar.

A Proud Beneficiary of PMAY (Urban)

Savita built her dream home under PMAY (Urban) 1.0 and currently works as a Community Resource Person (CRP) under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) at the Masaurhi Nagar Parishad. Upon receiving the official invitation from Rashtrapati Bhavan, her entire neighborhood erupted in celebration. Family, neighbors, and municipal officials have been congratulating her continuously.

A Moment of Pride and Recognition

Expressing her emotions, Savita said that being invited to meet the President and attend the dinner on Independence Day is a moment of immense pride. She added that her entire locality is sharing in her joy.

About PMAY (Urban)

Launched in 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) aims to provide housing for urban poor and lower-income groups. Beneficiaries constructing homes on their own land receive up to ₹2.5 lakh in assistance. Those without land can get homes through builder partnerships. Additionally, a home loan subsidy of ₹1.80 lakh is offered to eligible beneficiaries.
