Sikar, Dec 3: Two persons were murdered in a shooting on Saturday in Sikar, Rajasthan. Raju Theth, a criminal allegedly associated with the Veer Taj Sena gang, was one of those slain in the shoot out.
After Theth’s murder, his supporters declared a “shutdown” and stated they wouldn’t allow his remains to be transported for an autopsy until the murderers were brought to justice.
His murder was claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi group. A person going by the name of Rohit Godara made the murder accusation on Facebook.
“A man called Raju Theth, who has been involved in crime for a long time, sustained bullet injuries. As per the latest info available to me, he died. As per our info and available CCTV footage, four people were involved in the firing,” Kunwar Rastradeep, Sikar SP said as reported by ANI.
“Another man, Tarachand Jaat who had sustained bullet injuries in the shootout by criminal has succumbed to his injuries. He had come to meet his daughter who is residing in a hostel near the crime spot,” Sikar SP added.
Police claimed to have named some of the suspects. “Our teams are after them, it’s suspected that the accused headed towards Haryana border. Revelations will be made when they’re nabbed. This is basically a result of gangwar,” Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra told ANI.
A user by the name of Rohit Godara said in a Facebook post that the homicide was carried out as retaliation for the deaths of gangsters Anandpal and Balbir Banuda. “I take the responsibility of the murder, the revenge is complete…,” the user added.
Anandpal was killed in a police encounter and since then members of his gang joined the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and both gangs were involved in the incident.
In his tweet, the user also addressed the gangsters Ankit Bhadoo and Monu Bana by name.
In the meantime, Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas declared that the state government will take all necessary measures to apprehend these criminals.
