Dhanbad, Dec 3: Jharkhand martial arts players bagged three bronze medals in the Junior National Thanga-Ta championship which concluded at Imphal, Manipur today. Players who won bronze medals in their respective events are Sarib Khan of Palamu, Muskan Kumari of Garhwa and Pallabi KumarI of Dhanbad.
Jharkhand Thang-Ta Association president Ranjit Kesri said that the team from the state had participated in the three-day ( December 1 to 3) national junior championship organised by the All India Thang-Ta Federation in Imphal.
Sonamoti Kumari of Palamu was the captain of the Jharkhand squad while Krishna Kumar Sab was the coach.
“All 11 players performed as per their potential in the championship but most of them missed the medal by narrow points,” said Ranjit Kesri, president of the state association.
The secretary of state association Manoj Sharma, treasurer Anil Kumar Tulsiyan, Lohardagga district association secretary Suryawati Devi, Bokaro secretary Sanju Kumar, Hazaribagh district association president Sanjit Kumar Sinha, Dumka secretary Uday Shankar Bharti, Koderma secretary Shankar Ram and Dhanbad district secretary Krishna Kumar congratulated the medal winner players and expressed hope that they would bring a gold medal for the state in the national championship next time.
