Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals have marked International Women’s Day by unveiling a special all-pink jersey for their upcoming ‘Pink Promise’ match against Mumbai Indians on May 1 in the IPL 2025 season. This initiative is aimed at promoting women-led rural transformation in Rajasthan.
The Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the CSR arm of Rajasthan Royals, has also launched a campaign film titled ‘Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai’ to highlight the importance of women’s empowerment.
Key Highlights Of The ‘Pink Promise’ Initiative
• Support Through Ticket Sales: Rajasthan Royals will donate ₹100 for every ticket purchased for the RR vs MI match to women-led rural development projects in Rajasthan.
• Jersey Proceeds For Social Impact: All proceeds from the sale of the special pink jersey will go directly to the Royal Rajasthan Foundation to support women empowerment initiatives.
• Solar Power Initiative: For every six hit in the match, Rajasthan Royals and RRF will light up six homes in the Sambhar region with solar power.
Kumar Sangakkara On The Initiative
Rajasthan Royals’ Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara emphasized that ‘Pink Promise’ is more than just a campaign—it is a commitment to lasting social impact.
“Last year, we saw how this initiative changed lives, and we take immense pride in being part of this journey. ‘Pink Promise’ is a cultural commitment that defines our values,” Sangakkara stated.
CEO Jake Lush McCrum On The Impact
Rajasthan Royals’ CEO Jake Lush McCrum highlighted how the initiative has inspired global participation in women’s empowerment.
“From lighting up 260 homes through solar power to expanding our reach beyond the Sambhar block, we are building a movement for change across India,” he said.
The RR vs MI match on May 1 will serve as a symbolic representation of Rajasthan Royals’ dedication to social impact, using cricket as a platform to drive meaningful change.
