Rajinikanth Fans Celebrate ‘Coolie’ Release With Grand Festivities

Chennai: South superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Coolie hit theatres nationwide today, sparking massive celebrations among fans. From early morning, crowds gathered outside cinema halls across Tamil Nadu, with Chennai witnessing long queues and an electric atmosphere for the first day, first show.

Flower Offerings and Drum Beats in Tiruchirappalli

In Tiruchirappalli, women arrived holding flowers while men danced to the beats of drums and traditional instruments. The streets outside theatres turned into a festival ground as fans expressed their excitement in full fervour.

Madurai’s First Show Frenzy

Madurai too saw fans assembling outside cinemas from the early hours. With drums, singing, and showers of flower petals, the release of Coolie turned into a community celebration. Theatres reported heavy turnout for the morning show.

Chennai Fans Perform Rituals and Throw Colours

In Chennai, large crowds gathered outside theatres, throwing coloured powder and performing rituals for Rajinikanth’s posters. Some fans conducted traditional milk abhishekam (pouring milk) over the actor’s images, showcasing their devotion.

Mumbai Joins the Celebration

The craze was not confined to the South. In Mumbai, fans gathered outside theatres with drums, dancing to mark the film’s release. The celebrations reflected Rajinikanth’s pan-India fan base.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj

Coolie, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, is based on the theme of gold smuggling. The film features a star-studded cast including Rajinikanth, Upendra Kumar, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.
