Ramgarh: Bodies of couple fished out from well, probe on

Ramgarh, Jan 12: The bodies of an elderly couple were recovered and fished out from a well at Kulhi village of Rajarappa police station area of Dulmi block in Ramgarh district on Thursday.

The deceased identified as Kanchan Nayak (55) father late Mahilal Nayak and his wife Uma Devi (50), the residents of Kulhi, were seen floating in a well located at a distance of half a kilometre from their house.

The villagers informed that while going towards the farm, a dead body was seen in the well. The information was then given to the Rajrappa Police. After receiving the information, police station in-charge Harindan Singh reached the spot and retrieved the bodies from the well.

Police have sent the bodies for the autopsy to Ramgarh Sadar hospital postmortem house.

Harindan Singh said that the reason for the incident is yet not clear. There is a probability that after killing the husband and wife, the dead bodies were thrown into the well.  On the other hand, some people say that the couple may have committed suicide. There was also a land dispute going on in the village.
