Ramgarh, Aug 29: 130 students who excelled in the Annual Secondary Board Examination were felicitated by DC Chandan Kumar in the presence of senior officials of Tata Steel Limited and Tata Steel Foundation. The felicitation ceremony was organized at the conference hall of Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro.
The DC while congratulating the children said, “You are lucky that you are in today’s era where lack of resources cannot be your hindrance but for this you must have a strong willpower and clear goals. After that, no one can stop you from reaching your destination”.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Dixit, General Manager, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel encouraged the children and said, “The results of the pre-matric coaching classes being run by Tata Steel through Tata Steel Foundation have been very good and now the next target is the result.” He added, “Apart from this, many schemes are being run for education, in which Jyoti Fellowship is also there. Through the Jyoti Fellowship, scholarship is given for higher education, which makes you financially capable. The company wants to make society self-reliant through its scheme.”
Around 1032 students had registered for Pre-Matriculation Coaching Classes (PMC), an initiative of Tata Steel Foundation in which 323 students appeared in their annual secondary board exams and achieved a pass rate of 100%. Out of these 323 students, 130 excelled and achieved distinction, two of them ranked among the top ten students of Ramgarh district. Lalita Kumari and Uma Kumari, who came fourth and sixth in the entire Ramgarh, are from Bargaon and belong to a farming family with three siblings.
