Ramgarh, Jan 31: Ramgarh District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra today informed that a total of 405 polling stations have been set up in 233 buildings across Ramgarh. There will be 118 polling stations in Ramgarh, 64 in Dulmi, 70 in Chitarpur and 153 in Gola block. A total of 55 sectors and 10 clusters have also been created.
Ramgarh DC said that after the announcement of Ramgarh assembly by-elections by the Election Commission of India on January 18 and the gazette notification on January 31, a press conference has been organised to make available all the detailed information related to the election issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer.
The DC said that the nominations for the Ramgarh assembly by-election can be done by February 7 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Sub-division office, Ramgarh. The work of scrutiny will start at 11:00 am on February 8. The candidates can withdraw their names on February 10 till 3:00 pm. Along with this, DC also informed that voting will be held on February 27, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The appointment of officers and personnel in various areas for the voting process has been completed. A total of 2,025 election officials, 69 sector magistrates and 63 micro-observers have been appointed. Along with this, work is being done to train everyone at different stages for a successful election.
The availability of police forces has also been ensured to provide security to polling personnel and materials. The District Welfare Officer has been nominated as the nodal officer for the polling personnel. Out of the 405 polling stations, 244 polling stations are highly sensitive, 114 are sensitive and 47 are regular polling stations.
The district has received a sufficient number of EVM machines for the election, whose FLC work is being done at Soochna Bhavan, Ramgarh. The commissioning work of EVM will be carried out as soon as the number of candidates is received from the Returning Officer.
A strong room and counting hall have been set up at Ramgarh College. A total of three flying squad teams, three static surveillance teams and three video surveillance teams have been formed to comply with the model code of conduct. A total of six check posts operate 24 hours a day in different areas of the district, and a district-level control centre has been set up to ensure a free and fair election.
Meanwhile, SP Piyush Pandey said that through the checkpoints, there is a constant crackdown against illegal cash, liquor, weapons or anything that can affect the election. An investigative campaign is underway.
Along with this, necessary raid campaigns are being carried out in different areas of the district. He also said that people with licensed weapons should get the weapon verified and deposit them at their nearest police station. SP said a cell has also been formed in the Superintendent of Police’s office for the successful conduct of the election.
