Ramgarh, March 23: To save railways from privatisation and for introducing the old pension scheme a meeting of the Divisional Council of East Central Railway Employees Union of Dhanbad division was held on Wednesday at Barkakana Railway Recreation Club.

ECRKU President DK Pandey said that the first challenge is to save the railways from privatization. Around 2.67 lakh posts are lying vacant in various departments of the Railways. Due to the non-appointment of vacant posts for a long time, the workload has increased on the working employees.

Opposing the NPS, ECRKU General Secretary SNP Srivastava said that the movement is going on for all the employees to get the benefit of the old pension scheme.

“In the coming days, under the leadership of AIRF, all the central and state employees are getting united and preparations are going on for a huge protest at the national level,” Srivastava said.

The Secretary called upon the young railway workers to come forward and protest vigorously.

The president, secretaries and active members of all branches of the Dhanbad division participated in the meeting.
