Ramgarh, Aug 22: The Barkakana police busted the gang which used to steal iron bars from various police station areas of Ramgarh district. In the case, the police have arrested three persons, including the mastermind and sent them into judicial custody.
OP in-charge Shashi Prakash said that for the last 15-20 days, secret information was being received that Shubham Singh, a resident of Hehal, was carrying this illegal work at night, from trucks and trailers passing through Barkakana. He used to keep the unloaded iron bars hidden and after seeing the right time sold it to a cement shop and sometimes directly to the party. In this episode, information was received on Monday that Shubham Singh had set out to load the stolen rod in a blue-coloured tempo JH02T-1894 and deliver it to a cement shop in Ghutuwa.
He was caught with the goods after a quick raid. Police seized the blue-coloured tempo which was loaded with stolen bars. Police also seized the mobile used in the incident.
Along with this, after registering a case in Patratu police station, accused Shubham Singh of Ramgarh, Abdul Kalam Ambwatad of Patratu and Guddu Kumar Mahto of Ghutuwa have been sent to jail. OP in-charge Shashi Prakash, sub-inspector Afzal Ansari, ASI Bhubaneswar Yadav and armed personnel were present in this raiding team.
SP Piyush Pandey said that the information about the theft of bars was being received continuously. Acting on this, three people involved in the case have been arrested red-handed. Iron bars (Saria) have also been seized from the spot, he added.
