Ramgarh, May 19: CM Hemant Soren’s cousin sister Rekha Soren has won the Zila Parishad member seat area no. 15  under the Gola block of this district on Thursday.

Rekha Kumari got 11,326 votes. Her nearest rival Neha Devi got 6,838 votes. Another candidate Usha Devi got 6,019 votes. A total of 25987 votes were cast out of 35081. Valid votes were reported to be 24,183 while 1804 votes were rejected.

Rekha Kumari is a resident of village Nemra Ro Ro under the Gola block of this district. Nemra is the ancestral village of CM Hemant Soren and his father Shibu Soren.

Shibu Soren started his political career from this village years ago. Rekha Soren was present with supporters in Ramgarh college’s counting centre since the start of counting. It is possible that she will contest for the Zila Parishad president post.

Rekha said, “To serve the people is my first motto. I will work to develop my area. Anyone can approach me at any time. I am ready for them 24 hours.”
